Here are some questions people frequently ask us about volunteering for PNC Pedal Pittsburgh:

Is experience necessary to be a PNC Pedal Pittsburgh volunteer?

The only experience you need to be a Pedal Pittsburgh volunteer is the ability to smile and the willingness to have fun!

Will volunteer training be provided before the event?

Training will not be provided to each individual volunteer prior to the event.  An overview of your task description and instruction is provided to volunteers in advance of and/or at the event. Trained staff or volunteers will be available to review the instructions and answer any questions on event day.

Are the volunteer locations accessible by bus?

Please visit www.portauthority.org and view their trip planner or contact Melissa Leiberton at mleiberton@cdcp.org and she will be glad to assist you with bus schedules if possible. The “T” stops within ¼ of a mile of the Chevrolet Amphitheatre at the Station Square stop.

Do PNC Pedal Pittsburgh volunteers get free parking?

Free parking is only available to volunteers at Chevrolet Amphitheatre on Sunday, May 18th.  Unfortunately, we are unable to provide free parking to volunteers involved in any pre-registration event, course marshal location, or rest-stop location.

Where do I pick up my volunteer t-shirt?

T-shirts will be distributed to volunteers on event day when you sign in; rest stop attendants' t-shirts will be left at the rest stops on event day; t-shirts for course marshals can be picked up at our pre-registration locations.  If other arrangements needs to be made, please contact Christina Howell at 412.391.4144

Is lunch provided to PNC Pedal Pittsburgh volunteers?

All volunteers are invited and encouraged to join us for lunch at the Chevrolet Amphitheatre after their volunteer duties are completed.  For the rest stop attendants whose volunteer duties will not be over in time, lunch will be brought to the rest stop.

Are there any physical limitations related to the volunteer tasks?

Physical limitations including heavy lifting and standing in the sun may be associated with some tasks.

What should I do if I am unable to show up?

If something comes up before the day of your volunteer obligation and you are unable to keep your commitment, please call Christina Howell at 412.391.4144 as soon as possible.
